By measuring the tension characteristics between the adhesive and the adherend surface, it is extremely useful in assessing the effects of processes (eg surface treatment) or real-life performance (eg environmental exposure). 

Used in the wine and spirits industry for checking the delamination strength of pull tabs on aseptic carton packaging, the bond strength of self-adhesive wine labels etc.
